Mándame a la olla

En español, esta es una olla:

This is the center circle on a soccer field:

If you slice the circle in half, do you see a cooking pot?

Eh, I don’t know… but I guess kind of! Apparently, in Honduras they do.

My neighbor, who is Honduran, told me today that when playing soccer in Honduras, if you’re not in the center circle, but want to your teammate with the ball to pass it to you there because you’re about to run there, you say, “Mándame a la olla,” which means, “Send me to the pot (a.k.a. half-center circle).”

That’s today’s interesting tidbit of information! Adios.
