Jan. 19: Happy Ally

The year started off well for Ally because Trump was not reelected.

Jan. 24: Spanish Tortilla

Jan. 24: Mt. Washington Views

I learned how to make Spanish tortilla. It's actually extremely simple: Egg, potato, and a TON of oil...

Jan. 30: Stump @ Timmy's

I absolutely love this because it is 100% Western PA.

Tim's insane btw...

Feb. 4: Pozole @ Beto's

This night I was cold, so I went and got pozole from Beto's, a neighborhood Mexican joint.

Feb. 12: Russian/Uzbek Dinner from Kavsar's

Kavsar's is a Russian and Uzbek restaurant in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh. From left to right, here is what we got:

--Sweet pancakes: Crepes that you can get filled with either cottage cheese or cherry jelly

--Regular (non-sweet) pancakes: Crepes that you can get filled with either ground beef or potatoes and mushrooms

--Uzbek Plov: A traditional Uzbek rice dish with tender beef, carrots and green onions on top

--Kavsar Boat: A bread-based "boat" filled with potatoes and cheese

Feb. 20: We spent the weekend at Tim's cabin in Tionesta, PA.

I somehow lost our car keys. I suspect that they fell out of my pocket while riding quads Friday night. We were getting ready to leave on Sunday when I realized this. What a mess and bad mistake by me... We had to wait for Ally's mom to make the 2+ hour drive from Pittsburgh out to us to deliver Ally's spare key. She is a hero.

Mar. 7: I won Ticket to Ride by a significant margin.

Mar. 14: Freedom from Covid!

Mar. 16: Vaccinated Ally

April 4: Easter Sunday

Dad loves to host and serve. Here he is bringing us coffee after Easter Sunday dinner. Pictured bottom left is Aly Senko.

March 28: New Grill at Work!

Apr. 20: BHS Boys Volleyball

We drove to Hermitage, PA, where Ally got her vaccine (Pfizer).

Apr. 24: Xochimilco Food Truck (Columbus, OH)

This weekend I was coaching two teams at the Nike Cup Boys Soccer Tournament in Columbus, OH. I found this taco truck for lunch.

La Señora Torta

Torta is an interesting and difficult word to understand. In some Spanish speaking countries of the Americas, torta dulce may refer to a sweet pastry, like a Danish. In Spain, torta is a round piece of plain bread. In Mexico, a torta is a type of sandwich.

This food truck was Mexican, so the torta I got and show below is the sandwich type. It was filled with sausage, ham, chicken, egg, chorizo, queso fresco, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and jalapeños... Ha... The ultimate torta.
