Sacred Valley Day Loop #3: Moray

Next, we drove in our van along the short blue line that you can see on the first picture below to Moray.

Moray is an archaeological site and Inca ruin. The most notable aspects are the amphitheater-style spaces. We learned that these spaces were actually constructed this way–with the terraces/levels–for agricultural reasons. Our tour guide told us that at each level there were different microclimates with different temperatures and different soils that allowed for the cultivation of a variety of crops.

This place was so cool. I had never seen anything like Moray. When I posted a picture of the site on Facebook, many of the comments mentioned something related to aliens.

The last picture is cool because it shows how high up in the mountains we are.
